Julian Ramirez is a musician, composer, and educator originally from Colombia, based in Quebec City. Holding a double bachelor's degree in jazz guitar and composition (honors), he is currently pursuing a double master's degree at Université Laval in performance and sound design, with a keen interest in improvisation and digital audio mixing. The recipient of several distinctions (OICRM, Sandra and Alain Bouchard Foundation), he has also distinguished himself with award-winning works such as Latium and Malicia.
A versatile creator, he has composed for short films and participated in immersive projects, while performing with ensembles such as Neat Summa Orchestra, Brunnemer, and Ábaco at numerous festivals (Québec Jazz en Juin, Phoque Off, St-Roch XP, etc.). A passionate teacher, he offers a dynamic, personalized approach rooted in current technologies, integrating recording, digital accompaniment, and stage performances. He thus actively works to train the next generation of musicians in Quebec.
